Welcome Family and Friends

Many of you have shared that with the distance between us you miss being a part of our family. This blog is a way for us to reach out and share a bit of our daily life with you. We realize that it is not the same as face-to-face relationships, but we hope it will bridge the gap between our visits with you and your families.

Update on our little High Octane

High Octane is a nickname that Jonathan gave Gwendolyn recently. She is constantly on the go these days, always with lots of energy and most of the time quite loud.

Recently, we have had lots of doctor visits, starting with the trip to the ER for her finger that is thankfully well on the way to recovery. We went to our last visit with the specialist about her finger and is splint free. There is still swelling because of the knuckle injury and scar tissue.

As for her polyps, she has had no bleeding since her colonoscopy which is good news. We tried to have some x-rays taken of her upper GI- with follow through to small intestine on Thursday but as you can image she was quite overwhelmed by the machines. Meaning, we were not able to take any images that we truly do need to check for more polyps. So, we are heading to the Springs to have a pediatric radiologist see what they can do. Gwendolyn is not looking forward to the visit because she is quite tired of all the doctors and machines. We will have to leave the house around 6:15am for her 8:20am appointment. It can take 2-3 hours until we can leave, with Jonathan and Elias waiting in the waiting room- I'm hoping to be with her the whole time but it might be different than last time.

We will let you know when we have results. If she is clean and clear with no undetermined spots, we will hold off on her next colonoscopy until March ( which will begin her yearly check-up).

Jonathan's work is in full throttle and Elias is starting school around the end of August (homeschool) so we are a bit overwhelmed at times but doing well and hope to have a quiet break after this week, to catch our breath.

Hope all is well with you and yours as the summer starts to wind down.
